Best Advice I Ever Received for Making Art:

Updated: Jun 22, 2019

Just finish it... It doesn't have to be perfect.

In the beginning I had a hard time creating art. When I would draw I would erase so much I would put a whole in the paper and never finish. I had a false belief that everything must be perfect. This held me back for many years, I even stopped creating. When I was at work one day, I found out one of my coworker's boyfriend was an artist. I asked her, "What was his secret?" She told me, "Just to keep going and to finish." This changed how I viewed art. I took her advice. I noticed when I told that little voice that said it had to be perfect to "Shut up" I could finish. When I was done I realized it turned out great. When making art every piece is not going to turn out great every time but don't give up. You will only get better.
